Day 5

Sorry we have been behind on the blogs. Our days have been very full and we have stopped at a McDonalds on the way to Mesa Verde in order for Erika to do her work.

We woke up yesterday in holbrook NM, and traveled back to the painted desert and petrified forest that we missed so late on Saturday. The views of the painted desert were amazing. I wish we were able to see it at sunset but the vast size alone was humbling. We then moved on to the Petrified Forest and I actually liked it more. The history stored in stone and detail was fun for us all. The boys enjoyed it all.

We then moved on and passed thru Winslow AZ, but we forgot to check out the corner. So we headed to Sunset crater and other stops on the way to the Grand Canyon.

We arrived at the Grand Canyon at about 6pm. We stopped at the Grand View trailhead. If I have a chance tonight I will post these pictures but it was fun. It was a very steep climb down. We went down maybe about 100ft before we turned around. We made camp and went to the visitors center and caught the greatest sunset yet. As we were walking out a boys choir was singing "America the Beautiful" in the waining light.

We went back to the camper and at dinner 9:30 again which is 12:30 pm at home. We are gonna be really messed up when we get home. Made pasta again. And crashed for the night.
